Welcome to the sacred Abrisheswer Mahadev Temple, where devotees gather each morning to offer their prayers and seek blessings from Lord Shiva. As the first rays of the sun grace the temple, we commence our morning pooja aarti, a ritual of immense spiritual significance.
Morning Pooja

Ritual Preparations

Cleaning and Decoration:
– The temple is cleaned thoroughly before dawn.
– Fresh flowers and rangoli adorn the sanctum and the pathway leading to the main deity.

Bathing the Deity:
– The shivling is bathed with holy water, milk, honey, and curd, followed by the application of sandalwood paste and the offering of flowers.

Lighting the Lamps:
– Devotees light oil lamps (deepams) around the temple, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and ignorance.

Aarti Rituals

The Aarti of Abrisheshwar mahadev

Invocation:
– The ceremony begins with the chanting of the “Om Namah Shivaya” mantra, invoking the presence of Lord Shiva.
– Priests blow the conch shell (shankh) to mark the start of the aarti.

Singing of Aarti:
– Devotees sing the Shiva Aarti with devotion. The lyrics praise the glory of Lord Shiva and seek his blessings.

Offering:
– During the aarti, devotees offer various items to the deity, including flowers, incense (agarbatti), and holy water.
– The priest performs the aarti by circling a lit lamp in front of the deity while ringing a small bell.

Prayers and Mantras:
– The recital of sacred mantras and prayers continues, invoking peace, prosperity, and spiritual well-being for all devotees.

Divine Blessings

Concluding the Ritual

Distribution of Prasad:
– After the aarti, sacred prasad (holy offering) is distributed to all devotees.
– It typically includes sweets, fruits, and holy water from the abhishekam.

Blessings:
– Devotees receive blessings from the priest, who marks their foreheads with a tilak (sacred mark).

Silent Meditation:
– The ritual concludes with a few moments of silent meditation, allowing devotees to internalize the divine energy and peace.
